Since 1988, Anthony Bailey has held numerous roles which aim to foster greater inter-religious understanding between the followers of all faiths and none.
This has included hosting inter-religious conferences, facilitating exchange visits for faith leaders, speaking at international forums and fundraising for a wide range of faith based and community initiatives. Such activities have taken place across Western and Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
In 2014 Anthony was appointed a Patron of the Faith Forum for London which enables religious communities to work together across the British capital.
Previously Anthony served as Vice President of the Association of Papal Orders in Ireland and as an elected Member of the Council of the Catholic Union of Great Britain.
Anthony is a Member of the International Consultative Board of The Maimonides Foundation which works to encourage greater dialogue between Muslims and Jews. Since 2004 he is Advisory Board Member of Three Faiths Forum, and he was Advisory Board Member of Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East from 2006 to 2014.
Between 2000 and 2021 Anthony served as Delegate of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George – an internationally recognised Roman Catholic Order of Knighthood headquartered in Rome, Italy.
In 2014 Anthony was appointed Secretary General of the Royal Order of Francis I based within the Order’s Grand Magistry in Rome, with responsibility to direct the national and international activities of the Order especially in the areas of charity, humanitarian assistance and inter-religious relations.
In 2012 Anthony was awarded the Sternberg Foundation’s Interfaith Gold Medallion in recognition of his contribution to interfaith relations.
Between 2003-2010 he was a Patron of All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group.
