Riyadh, March 2010. Mr Anthony Bailey in his capacity as Special Envoy and Ambassador-at-Large of His Excellency The President of Montenegro to the Middle East and North Africa coordinated the Official Visit of the Montenegrin Head of State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 3-6 March 2010. The visit was aimed at promoting cultural and educational ties between both countries.
HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Governor of Makkah Province, and President of Painting & Patronage, greeted the President and his delegation on arrival at the Royal Terminal of King Khalid International Airport.
The Montenegrian Head of State was accompanied by a seven member delegation including His Excellency Branislav Micunovic, Minister of Culture, Sports and Media of Montenegro.
The President visited numerous cultural and educational institutions whilst in Riyadh. Among them were the King Faisal International Prize Ceremony and Gala Dinner and a Painting & Patronage luncheon and painting exhibition held at the King Faisal Royal Palace and Alfaisal University.
His Excellency Filip Vujanović, President of Montenegro, honoured HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal by decreeing and investing His Royal Highness with the insignia of the National Order of the Montenegrin Grand Star, First Class Grade, in recognition of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal’s contribution to inter-cultural exchange. The ceremony was held at the King Faisal Royal Palace in Riyadh and attended by senior members of the Royal Family, the Royal Government of Saudi Arabia, and by leading cultural and educational figures from Saudi Arabia, Europe and North America.
